100 Animation Way

Everyone knows that Walt Disney Feature Animation Studio has always been and still is in California. Once upon a time (from 1989 to 2004) a satellite studio was built on the backlot of what is now Disney’s Hollywood Studios. That satellite studio was Walt Disney Feature Animation Studio Florida. 100 Animation Way is an initiative to honor the legacy, memory, and spirit of the forgotten Walt Disney Feature Animation Studio Florida through the sharing of stories, life experiences, and memorabilia. The story will primarily be told by Tony West and Jim Jackson with help from friends, family, former coworkers, and fans.

Tony West

Tony West is a creative and humble artist who dedicated 15 years of working for the Walt Disney Feature Animation Studio Florida as an effects animator from 1989 to 2003. During his time with WDFAF, Tony worked on numerous Disney animated films such as Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Mulan, Lilo & Stitch, and many more. After the studio shut down in 2004, Tony produced a documentary with effects animator and friend Dan Lund. Dream On Silly Dreamer was a documentary about the rise and fall of traditional animation at the Walt Disney Company from 1980 to 2005. Tony currently works with the Disney Design Group and created his own pin company: Pincats.com
